Balmain’s Oliver Rousteing announced yesterday that he will be collaborating with H&M this year for their annual designer collaboration. Rousteing showed up to this years Billboard awards with models Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn dressed in pieces from the “Balmain X H&M” collection. Rousteing is a very talented designer his attention to detail is one of a kind. The Collaboration will be released on November 5, 2015 in selected H&M stores.
“I want to talk to my generation: this is my main aim as a designer. H&M allows me the unique possibility of bringing everyone into the world of Balmain,” says Olivier Rousteing.
The Susana Pearcey runway show was unique and on trend this year at Western Canada Fashion week. Pearcey is exclusive with her creations and label as she creates “modern apparel from rescued textiles”.
Pearcey is a young designer out of Edmonton. Her creations are clean cut and have a earthy everyday vibe to them. One can were these pieces and effortlessly look on trend. I also liked the hair and make up she used for her show the hair styles especially gave the show a twist from the normal everyday casual vibe her creations give off.
Yesterday Nimmaré put on a amazing show at Western canada fashion week in Edmonton. This was one of Nimmaré ‘s first runway shows and it was done beautifully. I enjoyed the soft feel of the show. Nimmaré introduced some nice soft pink wool designs to the 2015 collections. All of the models were delicately accessorized in pearls. I attended the show and had the chance to take some photos, here is a look at my photos from the show.
Make Fashion is technology infused with fashion and design. Make Fashion had a showcase at the Telus SPARK center in Calgary this past weekend on Saturday, March 28, 2015. The event consisted of a runway style showcase of wearable technology, it was beautiful to watch there was very unique pieces! some reminded me of Cosplay and then another designer presented a twist on a wedding gowns. The most touching designer/ Engineer to me was Alleles Design Studiothey create decorated and designed prosthetic Limbs for people who need them, their work is both breath taking and very meaningful. Manny of the pieces are art and mostly have a couture feel to them. I attended this show and took photos. Here is a look at the images I captured of the show I enjoyed this showcase I would recommend it to any one who enjoys fashion or technology.
The Balmain show today was colorful and graceful. Olivier Rousteing used less leather and more silk for this collection. This collection has vibrant colors that are reminiscent of the eighties. I love the use of velvet in some of his pieces! The fringing and pleated looks Rousteing had used gave the collection an 80’s vibe. This was a show I was anticipating, I am somewhat disappointed as I love his last year AW collection with olive green and lots of leather. This collection has much less leather and brighter colors. Although it is different the collection still gives off Balmain elegance, the use of geometric lines give the collection a Balmain signature. Here is a look at the show from today.
Yay Paris Fashion Week is hear! Okay I admit it is not my favorite fashion week but its the second best! Milan is my favorite because I love Italian elegance and shine! But Paris is a very close second with Balmain KARL by Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin, and of corse Chanel! Here is some shots of the street style happening right now in Paris.
“Mark your calendar! March 11, 2015 will be the most sizzling event of the year. Bella is Calgary’s Premier Fashion Event, where over 700 of Calgary’s community leaders will experience the hottest fashion trends, tantalizing cuisine and amazing auction.
In the past,Bella has raised almost $1million for health priorities in research, education and leading edge technologies in our community. This year, all proceeds raised will be directed to the “Neonatal Intensive Care Unit” (NICU) at Foothills Medical Centre in order to create the only in-born 3 Level Tertiary Care Unit in southern Alberta for our tiniest patients.” –Marion Dixon Chair – Bella 2015 For more info click hear.
The show should be a good one! It is extremely exciting to have an event organized around fashion for fundraising. Fashion can be expensive and make us feel selfish for indulging in materialistic things. Now we have a great cause to raise funds for so its completely guilt free!
The Dolce & Gabbana show was a beautiful tribute to Mothers. Mothers are the queens of our world as they give, nourish and complement our lives. D&G included mothers with their own babies, children and toddlers. They even had a very pregnant Bianca Balti grace the runway. The show was beautiful and elegant. The signature lace dresses and pencil skirts are timeless. The prints and floral rose patterns are also beautifully made. I love this collection, I love the choice of colors and the family theme throughout. I enjoy the silk children drawing gowns, they remind me of Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress. Here is a look at the beautiful “Viva la Mamma” runway show that happened on March, 1 /2015.
